What sets Brow:ID Henna apart from regular tinting?
First of all: It lasts longer!
You get much longer lasting results with Brow:ID as it 'stains' the skin for longer, so those who are wanting their results to last will love this product. Perfect for holidays and special occasions.
The way Brow:ID Henna works on the hair and skin structure is incredibly unique in comparison to tinting. Tinting uses an oxidant to open the cuticle of the hair and allows colour to penetrate the brow hairs cortex through the oxidation process. Henna, on the other hand, acts like a blanket over the hair and provides a coating to the hair shaft, coating the top layers of the hair cuticle only. As the brow cuticle has a scale-like finish, this coating smooths out the result, almost like buffing out the hair imperfections to give the appearance of a thicker, softer and smoother hair and eyebrow.
It is also a great stepping stone to semi permanent make up!
Your skin regenerates daily, so it is always difficult to say how long a Brow:ID Henna is going to last on a certain skin type in the brow area, as skin varies from person to person. Some clients have oily skin and some clients have dry skin and these conditions can affect the longevity of the skin stain and make the skin more resistant to ‘staining’.
Lasting up to 14 days on the skin and 4-6 weeks on the hair, Brow:ID is a gentle formulation containing no ammonia, lead or peroxide which helps to minimise the body’s natural absorption of 'nasties'. The treatment is very cost-effective, and can easily be incorporated into your salon. It is also a great up-sell opportunity to Lash Lift treatments, Lash extensions, make overs and Semi Permanent Makeup. With Brow:ID processing time taking no more than a 20-minutes, it easily complements clients lash lifting regime and ensures substantial hourly financial productivity for salons who choose to offer a Brow:ID treatment - partnered with a lash lift treatment for example.
The darker colours such as the black and dark brown in the range contain a higher percentage of indigo powder which helps to neutralise warmth and more powerful results. You can mix the darker pigments in with the lighter colours in the range e.g. 5% Black with 95% Blonde.
How do Henna brows compare to other temporary tints?
Henna is a safe and natural alternative to tints and dyes. It is vegan friendly and free from peroxide activators, making it a suitable option for anyone with sensitive skin.
Most clients prefer the Henna brows to traditional tinting as the Henna is a natural product and generally produces longer lasting results.
It’s a good stepping stone to more permanent eyebrow procedures.
It's been beneficial to those wanting better definition to their eyebrows perhaps not quite ready to tackle cosmetic tattooing or Microbladed eyebrows.
Henna tinting is more effective for staining the skin compared with other forms of eyebrow tinting.
It will appear matte and fluffier than regular tinting. Traditional hair and brow dye will only tint the hairs effectively, whereas Henna successfully grips the skin.
How long do henna brows last and how do you maintain them?
The results of Henna brows typically last between 4-6 weeks, but it’s dependant on your skin type. If you have a dry complexion, Brow:ID Henna brows will tend to last a bit longer than they would on someone with an oily complexion.
Are there any harmful ingredients in Brow:ID?
Reactions are generally based on traditional henna, and this pertains to PPD which is at a very high % in traditional henna, also known as "Black Henna".
The Brow:ID has been formulated to have very low percentages of PPD thus limiting the chance of a reaction. However like all colourants we insist on a patch test prior to treatment to ensure complete safety and best practice.
