What to do if your Semi Permanent Makeup business is getting quiet

Keeping records for lean times.

If you're the kind of person that only focusses on new clients, or on where to find the next new treatment prospect - then you could be missing out.

We all keep client notes from our treatments, as we must by law, but they're probably living in a filing cabinet somewhere. Those records, while valuable, don't actually serve any purpose while they're sat there.

A great idea, is to keep a simple diary. Yes, I know you don't need another thing to fill in, but hear me out. A small, week-to-view diary is fine. All you'll be doing is noting down some basic information, such as:

  • Name

  • Treatment

  • Price

  • Contact number (optional)

That's it!

Now - all the other information you keep on the client is in their files, along with their paperwork and data sheets. You don't need that right now. What you DO need, is to fill the diary in, EVERY time you carry out a Semi Permanent Makeup treatment.

After a year, you'll have a full diary full of all the clients you have worked with for the previous year. You can scan a week or so ahead, and contact them for brightening treatments, or special offers on other areas. It's a great way to stay in touch, and it does the work for you.

Keeping in touch with your clients is crucial if you want to make the most of them. Of course, you need to look ahead for new clients, but once they're yours, maximise them!
