INSURANCE INFORMATION

It is a pre-requirement of Dermace that you have adequate insurance for Semi Permanent Make Up / Micropigmentation. We ask that you have this set up and in place ready for the start of your first day training with us. As outlined in your welcome letter we recommend Holistic Insurance who can be contacted on 01327354249. Holistic will cover you for 12 months only whilst you are training and in the process of building your portfolio. Students MUST return within 12 months of starting your insurance to complete your assessment and gain certification. A copy of your certificate must be forwarded to Holistic Insurance or they will not offer further insurance cover. If you have insurance cover through an alternative insurance provider, please ensure that you thoroughly read their terms and conditions on this matter.

SUPPORT AT DERMACE

There are some important distinctions to make with regards to Support, how it’s delivered, and the obligations involved.

Phone Support: Phone Support is also a great way to ask those simple questions that may have slipped your mind. Please bear in mind that during office hours, Trainers will be busy in the training room and so we’ll normally need to take a message if the query is technical. We ask you to be understanding on this point, as you know how disruptive it would be to halt training throughout the day to ask Trainers to come to the phone. We consult with the trainers during their break time, and feed back to you wherever possible after that.

Messaging (Email): Messaging is the best way to share photos of work that you’re asking questions about. It also allows both us and you to keep a record of the advice we’ve given, so we (the technician, and Dermace) can refer to it at a later date if need be. Email Messages are generally answered during office hours. We do not monitor Facebook Messages regularly - Email is always best.

What we can support you with, and what we can’t: We struggle to give advice on a treatment if you are not using our pigments or machine. This is not a case of us being awkward – but more an avoidance of giving you incorrect advice. We understand our pigments and machinery, so we can help you to understand any issues you may be be having. We can only support you in the areas you were trained in with us. If you are a Dermace Machine Tech, but trained in Microblading elsewhere, we can only support the training we provided on machine. We can only offer support on the main training courses, and not Workshops. Any workshop content you’re unsure of would be dealt with over phone/email.

What we expect from you: When attending a Support session of any kind, we expect you to show up on time, and with all the equipment you’ll need. We expect you to arrive with a positive attitude, and a desire to improve you skills. Please remember, these sessions are designed to help you – not judge or criticise you personally. If you arrive with the right attitude, you’ll leave a more confident, happier, and a better technician. If you arrive with a negative attitude, we’re going to struggle to help you. If you put in the effort, we will match that effort and the session will be beneficial. We’re here to help you, it’s as simple as that – and we’re all about improving your abilities.

When is Support not Support? Support is for developing you as a technician. It’s for reinforcing the techniques you’ve learned on your training course, and filling in any gaps in your knowledge. Support is not for re-training you. If you have had life events occur after training that prevented you from creating your portfolio, or working in Semi Permanent Makeup in general, and now you’d like to return to train again – there will be a charge for this. We do not consider this situation to be ‘Support’ within the boundaries of what we offer for free. We understand that life can throw some very tricky situations for you to deal with – and that’s why we can provide a discounted course for you to get back into work again. From that point, you’d be back into the general Dermace Support Programme again.

Portfolios: We provide a handout to explain exactly what’s involved with creating and submitting a portfolio. The portfolio is the first step to becoming qualified. There are no short-cuts or special cases here. We work very closely with insurers to make sure that everything is done correctly, and your certificate is actually a valuable accreditation to have. We can help you, but you must follow the guidelines set out in the handout. This is what the insurance companies insist on, and it’s what we have to adhere to.

Removal of Support: We reserve the right to remove Support from any student at our own discretion.
